We are a mobile ministry we go were we are need. We believe that 'Church' does not mean 'building', but is defined by the intention of those gathered.
Is my donation tax-deductible?
No, We are not large enough to be a non-profit organization at this time.
Wedding Services
What is included in the wedding packages?
All of our wedding packages include: Free consultations to discuss the wants and needs of the couple. One-on-one consultation to create the ceremony wording that is appropriate for you based on ceremony options. The creation of your ceremony with the incorporation of ceremony enhancements, readings,or poems requested. Unlimited contact via phone and/or email. Travel to the location of your choice free of charge in the Franklin County area and for locations outside of the Franklin County area we charge by the mile after the first 20 miles round trip.A rehearsal based on applicable fees, performance of the ceremony. Keepsake copy of the words spoken during your ceremony. Keepsake Certificate to commemorate your special event. The filling of the marriage license after the completed ceremony on your behalf.
Do I need a marriage license?
Yes, In the State of Ohio you are required to obtain a marriage license to get married.
Does the minister/officiate obtain the marriage license?
No, You must obtain your marriage license on your own. However, for your convenience you can click on the following links and it will take you to the Ohio Marriage Licensing Department's website and you can get more information from their site on how to obtain your marriage license. (Please note that if you click on any of the below links it will take you to a different website.)
Do we need premarital counseling?
No, the State of Ohio does not require premarital counseling.
Will you perform a same sex union?
Yes, however, keep in mind that a same sex union is not recognized as a legal marriage in the State of Ohio.
How much notice do you require to officiate a wedding/ handfasting?
For our elopement/basic package we will do on short notice. However, for all of our other packages we require at least a one week notice so we can customize your ceremony to meet your needs. For more customization we really need 2 weeks or more to make sure that your ceremony has all the elements that you want included.
Are you willing to perform a ceremony at a non-religious site?
Yes, this is your special day. It is your decision on where you want to get married at, whether it is in a church, someone's backyard , or a park. We have even performed weddings in the couple's livingroom. It is up to you.
Are you able to do a civil ceremony in a prison?
No, we are unable to perform a wedding/civil ceremony in a prison. However, we can provide you with information to a fellow minister that will be happy to assist you.
Do you have a list of readings pre-selected that couples can choose from?
Yes, we do have a wide range of pre-selected readings and poems that couples can choose from.
Can a couple write their own ceremony ?
Yes, if a couple wants to write their own ceremony, we say go for it. We have outlines that we can provide that can help a couple in writing their own ceremony. However, we will be here every step of the way if the couple should need any help with writing their own ceremony. (Keep in mind that there are elements in your ceremony that most be included for your ceremony to be legal and binding.)
Can the couple pick and choose what is in their ceremony?
Yes, couples can pick and choose what is in their ceremony.
What is the difference between a civil ceremony and a religious ceremony?
A Civil ceremony has no prayers or religious additions to the service. A couple choosing a civil service may elect to have a favorite poem read. A Religious ceremony on the other hand has prayers, bible reading and other religious additions to the ceremony.
What are Ceremony Enhancements?
Ceremony Enhancements are mini ceremonies within your wedding ceremony that are a wonderful way to express your love together and emphasize a specific point that is important to you as a couple. For example: The Sand Ceremony, The Butterfly Release Ceremony, Jumping of the Broom, The Unity Candle Ceremony, etc.
Do you perform wedding rehearsals and what is the benefits of them?
Yes, we do perform wedding rehearsals. Although most people understand in general what is expected of them during your ceremony some of the specific details about your processional and recessional could get confusing. Rehearsals are also beneficial if you decide to include certain Ceremony Enhancements. It is very helpful to all participants to discuss the order of the events in those unique ceremonies. If you wish to include children in your ceremony, a rehearsal could really help them out too. They may take comfort in knowing and practicing their exact role in your special day.
Do we have to put down a deposit(Retainer fee)?
Yes, we do require a 50% of the total cost of the ceremony as your deposit (Retainer fee). This fee in non-refundable and holds your date and time for your wedding and goes toward the balance of your ceremony.
Cancellation Policy
What is your cancellation policy?
We will only ever cancel your event in the event of an emergency. If we have to cancel under those circumstances your deposit will be fully refunded. We will notify you of any such emergency as soon as possible. We will also try to locate another officiate for you if possible. Elder Rose Ministries is a member of the American Association of Wedding Officiants and there are many members in Ohio that we can attempt to contact on you behalf if this situation should ever arise.
Please note that if you cancel your event the deposit amount is non-refundable. If you need to reschedule your event and we have the date available we will still honor your deposit for the new date and only the balance of the package will be due.
How do I cancel an event and/or meeting?
Please contact us if you need to cancel or reschedule your event.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, PayPal, and Visa/Mastercard. For Elopement ceremonies and ceremonies that are less that 21 day from the ceremony date we only accept cash payments. For all other ceremonies and ceremonies that are more than 21 days from their ceremony date we accept cash or PayPal or Visa/Mastercard. With PayPal we will send you an invoice via email and in that email there will be a link that will take to PayPal to pay your invoice. At this time we do not accept personal checks due to issues with personal checks in the past.
Privacy Policy
What is you privacy policy?
We do not sell you information to any third party. We keep all of your information that you provide us confidential. We do however, may from time to time use your pictures on our website, brochures, etc. However, we will not use your pictures with out your consent.
